The former "Alpha Insurance" belongs to the AXA Group since March 2007. AXA Group is a worldwide leader in Financial Protection, whose operations are diverse in Europe, North America and the Asia and Pacific area.

The insurance company ALPHA, a subsidiary of the Greek ALPHA bank group, was founded in 1999 by the merger of two insurance companies with long-standing experience and tradition, “Empiriki” and “Hellenobretanniki”.

ALPHA meets all insurance-specific requirements and is financially supported by Greece's largest, internationally-active private bank which has approx. 450 branches. ALPHA offers high-quality services in the areas of “Life insurance” and “Non-life insurance”. Furthermore, through its network of insurance partners, ALPHA also offers a selection of bank products.

With the aim of improving the performance of its business processes, ALPHA commissioned the consulting firm "accenture" to find a new software. The new administration system for all insurance classes should enable improved service, the fast introduction of new products and the limitation of operating costs. With the introduction of the new portfolio software, ALPHA also wanted to switch to a new IT platform and, thus, create the prerequisites to meet market requirements.

Since 2000, ALPHA has used ALICE as a strategic back end for the planned growth and administers its business processes using this standard software.

In the meantime, several release changes have been carried out successfully “in time and budget”. The most recent upgrade package was implemented in 2004 in cooperation with the ALICE South Europe Group and ALICE Software Service GmbH to ALPHA’s utmost satisfaction.
