ERGO Integrates Software Subsidiary ALICE
Düsseldorf/Erkrath, 07/03/2008 – In future, ALICE Software Service GmbH will only provide consultancy services for the administration of insurance portfolios to ERGO companies.
For external customers, this means the end of the support and maintenance of the ALICE software by ALICE Software Service GmbH. This decision was made by the ERGO Insurance Group to meet their increased requirements for high-quality administration software.
ALICE is already the strategic platform of the international ERGO companies. The role of the ALICE software is particularly important in view of the increasingly international orientation of the group.
"With its SAP-based standard software, ALICE belongs to the leading software providers for the administration of insurance portfolios on the European market. Based on more than ten years of implementation and consulting experience, ALICE has developed excellent IT solutions. We need the expertise and the capacities for the increased IT demands in the group and, in particular, for the further internationalization of ERGO. The ALICE software is a cornerstone of our international strategy", said Dr. Bettina Anders, member of the ERGO management board for customer service, company organization and IT, when describing the new orientation of ALICE.
In addition to a smooth integration process, the management of ALICE Software Service GmbH wants to ensure the support and maintenance of the ALICE software for existing external customers.
With msg systems ag, ALICE has found an experienced and reliable partner who meets all the IT needs of the existing customers with regard to ALICE.

Employees of msg systems will be trained by ALICE Software Service GmbH so that they can independently maintain and continue the development of the ALICE software. The transfer of know-how will begin in mid-September 2008 and will be completed by 31/03/2009.
For msg systems ag, the adoption of the ALICE software is a logical enhancement of their own product portfolio. "We are going to purchase the right of use and exploitation of the ALICE software in order to be able to fulfill the maintenance contracts concluded with the existing customers. This will complete msg systems' product portfolio for SAP-based solutions in the insurance industry", said Hans Zehetmaier, chairman of the board of msg systems ag.

The company develops and maintains the standard software ALICE, a universal portfolio management system for insurance companies which can be implemented internationally. The software is currently used in 14 countries.
